Everybody Serves
By SoulRio
Posted on April 19, 2005
This comes from Week #6 - Everybody Serves in the Start-up guide for Rio Links (home churches). It is a great study to pull out every now and then. Sometimes groups get too dependant on the leaders of the group and they need to see that it takes everyone using his/her gifts for the group to grow.

Hand out the Everybody Serves list of values.
In SoulRio RioLinks…
o Leaders are only as good as when they are commissioned and empowered.
o A healthy believer’s lifestyle includes small group ministry to others.
o Groups minister to each other.
o Every RioLink Leader has an Apprentice training to lead a group.
o All RioLink Leaders have a Coach that ministers, mentors and trains the RioLink Leader.
o The Church staff’s primary purpose is to mentor and train Leaders to carry on ministry through RioLinks.
o Leadership is better caught than taught.
o RioLink Leaders invest at least ten hours per week in personal ministry to their RioLink.
o All leadership has first successfully led at all levels of leadership below that position.
o Every Leader has an Apprentice he/she is developing to replace him/her self.
• Read Acts 2:45 (NASV), “And they began selling their property and possessions and were sharing them with all, as anyone might have need.”
• What is the attitude of the early church towards their possessions and those who were in need?
• What is your most prized possession that the Lord has given to you to use and enjoy in your life?
• Think about this possible principle to live by: Whatever you buy big or small, buy another one of the same value and give it to someone who has this need or would benefit from it.
o How hard would it be to live by this principle?
o Why is it so hard to live by this principle?
o What lifestyle changes need to be made to free you up financially to be a blessing to others.
• Read John 12:26 (NASV), “If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me, and where I am there shall my servant also be, if anyone serves Me, the Father will honor Him.”
• What does this verse say about the attitude that you have should have towards serving the Lord?
• What is the reward the Lord will give as you serve with the right heart? What does that word “honor” mean to you?
• Read 1 Peter 4:10 (NASV), “Each one of you, as a good manager of God’s different gifts, must use for the good of others, the spiritual gift he has received from God.”
• What is your spiritual gift?
• How could you see yourself serving the RioLink?
• Who are the people in your RioLink that have demonstrated serving others and the Lord? What is it that they have done?
